I’m really happy to be here today to help celebrate the release of Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller! While I adored Levenseller’s previous duology, Daughter of the Pirate King, this book blew it out of the waters. It’s a historical fantasy, but packed with an intense adventure, beautiful friendships, and a triumphant victory that will leave a mark on readers. Let’s begin!
As her father’s chosen heir, eighteen-year-old Rasmira has trained her whole life to become a warrior and lead her village. But when her coming-of-age trial is sabotaged and she fails the test, her father banishes her to the monster-filled wilderness with an impossible quest: to win back her honour, she must kill the oppressive god who claims tribute from the villages each year or die trying.
I really recommend this beautifully-written adventure to fans of history and fantasy. Levenseller writes of a fierce, independent warrior who finds herself from hero to zero. What’s a girl got to do but pick herself back up, and show that she is worthy? It helps that she develops several allies on the way. With a perfect blend of a healthy romance, trustworthy friendships, and stubborn grit, Rasmira finds herself creating an unforgettable story that will leave readers entranced from page 1 to the finish. I also really adore stand-alones, and this book was just the perfect length!
Trigger/Content Warnings in book: violence and gore
