Kate Daniels Giveaway Blog Tour! | Celebrate Magic Triumphs With Us

Hello everyone!

I can’t believe Kate Daniels is on its last book. I discovered this amazing series later in the game, but each of the characters now have a special place in my heart. If you don’t know, the Kate Daniels series is an Urban Fantasy series about an ass-kicking woman who deals with all kinds of supernatural entities, such as shapeshifting lions (yum) and monsters from cultures around the world. I really enjoy this series because of its humor, inclusitivity, and fast-paced action. Ilona Andrews writes lovable characters that you just want to read more and more about!

Author: Ilona Andrews
Series: The Iron Covenant #1
Release Date: June 26, 2018
Publisher: NYLA
Get it Here: Amazon | Barnes & Noble

Synopsis:

No day is ordinary in a world where Technology and Magic compete for supremacy…But no matter which force is winning, in the apocalypse, a sword will always work.

Hugh d’Ambray, Preceptor of the Iron Dogs, Warlord of the Builder of Towers, served only one man. Now his immortal, nearly omnipotent master has cast him aside. Hugh is a shadow of the warrior he was, but when he learns that the Iron Dogs, soldiers who would follow him anywhere, are being hunted down and murdered, he must make a choice: to fade away or to be the leader he was born to be. Hugh knows he must carve a new place for himself and his people, but they have no money, no shelter, and no food, and the necromancers are coming. Fast.

Elara Harper is a creature who should not exist. Her enemies call her Abomination; her people call her White Lady. Tasked with their protection, she’s trapped between the magical heavyweights about to collide and plunge the state of Kentucky into a war that humans have no power to stop. Desperate to shield her people and their simple way of life, she would accept help from the devil himself—and Hugh d’Ambray might qualify.

Hugh needs a base, Elara needs soldiers. Both are infamous for betraying their allies, so how can they create a believable alliance to meet the challenge of their enemies?

As the prophet says: “It is better to marry than to burn.”

Hugh and Elara may do both.

Note: This is a spin-off Urban Fantasy series to Kate Daniels. Reading the previous series is not necessary, but I highly recommend doing so to increase your enjoyment of this book!

WHAT A WILD RIDE.

The Ilona Andrews team really did not disappoint with Iron and Magic, which follows one of the antagonists in the Kate Daniels series, Hugh d’Ambray. I came in knowing that this was going to be a tough sell. The thing about Hugh’s character in the Kate Daniels series is that he’s written so well as an antagonist. He’s killed beloved characters, imprisoned, and tortured many people and shapeshifters. However, the authors write this redemption book so well, even someone who was side-eyeing the announcement of this book like me fell in love with it. As someone who has been subjugated in a manipulative relationship before, I am very harsh when it comes to redemption arcs. The Andrews team writes Hugh’s with dexterity and care. Many loose strings when it came to his character in the Kate Daniel’s series is wrapped up. The heroine they introduce, Elara, is a force of nature that holds her own against Hugh. All in all, Iron and Magic is another example of the authors’ tactical and heartfelt writing that I have grown to love. Continue reading

This was an amazing conclusion to the Hidden Legacy trilogy! Ilona Andrews continues on with a kickass action and adventure, featuring strong characters who aren’t afraid to stand up and fight for what they love, and for what they believe in. We get more development with Nevada’s powers, and a slight conflict with her family as secrets become unveiled. But throughout it all, her love and support from Rogan are there, as well as Nevada’s dedicated and loyal personality that makes her so enjoyable to read about. Continue reading

But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor “Mad” Rogan.
Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Thank you Edelweiss and Avon for the review copy!

This sequel to Ilona Andrews’s Hidden Legacy series was seriously smoldering. The title is White Hot, and it is SERIOUSLY hot. *fans self* The Andrews team always has successful Urban Fantasies, and this one is no different! You’ll definitely have to pick up the first book, Burn For Me, before starting this one, though. Not only does Andrews explore family dynamics with Nevada’s loving and large family, but it also focuses on the slow burn romance with Mad Rogan, as well as a discovery of Nevada’s power that could change the path of her life. The world is really intricate, and so is the magic system, making for a compelling read that will never have a boring moment. Continue reading
